yesterday this girl in my academic writing class sits down next to me and puts 3 bananas on the desk (which was jarring by itself) and i had two bananas in my backpack so i wanted to see if she would notice if i added those to her banana pile when she wasn’t looking and when she finally looked back at the bananas she sighed and said really quietly to herself “oh my god…i have so many…” and put all five of them in her backpack
Critical Role: They try, but it’s shit tier. All gay NPCs are plagued by “they’re gal pals,” or being portrayed as still actively in having their worth be second place to being a nonthreatening gay whose love exists to make a character written by a straight man feel better about himself. Cast can’t remember their most powerful ally’s pronouns, and when a PC is finally gay, it is, of course, the most Tragic Fucking Thing, even though there’s been 0 evidence of homophobia in Exandria.
The Adventure Zone: some good boys fuck up sometimes but they usually pull it off. After some Bury Your Gays nonsense before Griffin knew what he was doing, he gave Killian a girlfriend and shows them having lives outside of the main party. A PC is gay and his player gave him a tragic backstory that had literally 0 things to do with being gay. Enby NPC’s pronouns were treated with respect and mistakes were quickly corrected but not glossed over. Trans girl NPC is new but loved and treated no differently than her brother.
Friends at the Table: fucking god tier. God is gay. The robots are gay. Players actually include LGBT people. Space lesbians. Fantasy boyfriends. Nonbinary thieves. Everyone’s pronouns are respected. “I got that boyfriend plus one!” Jack says, smugly. Ali tries to kiss every girl. Keith has 42 potential love interests of all genders who eventually are killed because he makes bad decisions.
MORICE WEST FORESTRY SERVICE ROAD, B.C.—A checkpoint camp was abandoned behind a massive fallen tree and a barrier of flame on Monday afternoon as dozens of RCMP officers finally pushed past the barricade set up to bar entry to the traditional territories of the Wet’suwet’en people.
Fourteen people would be arrested by the end of the day.
The checkpoint, for weeks a movable gate at the mouth of a bridge, had been fortified by the Gidimt’en clan of the Wet’suwet’en nation as the RCMP marshalled in nearby towns over the weekend.
Camp members faced both uniformed RCMP and camouflage-wearing Emergency Response Team tactical unit officers through the barbed wire.
“What are your grandchildren going to think?” yelled nation members as police advanced.
After a lengthy, increasingly heated back-and-forth between the demonstrators and police, officers began cutting the barbed wire and started up a chainsaw. Camp members began to scream in protest; two young men had chained themselves to the fence below the view of the officers, encasing their arms in a kind of pipe that meant opening the gate risked breaking both of their arms.
The RCMP are setting up exclusion zones and closed roads to the public and media as officers get set to dismantle two camps on unceded Wet’suwet’en territory.
“During the police enforcement operation, temporary exclusion zones and road closures will be established for police and public safety reasons,” said the news release sent out Monday morning that confirmed the RCMP will enforce a court order requested by a pipeline company trying to build a pipeline through Wet’suwet’en territory.
“Those areas will be clearly marked and media/public are welcome to stand at the perimeter, but no one will be allowed to enter the exclusion zones. These zones will only be maintained as long as necessary.”
The raids have been highly anticipated after a B.C. judge granted an interim injunction in December against two check points leading to the construction site for the LNG Coastal GasLink pipeline.
you know, that whole thing when a colonist militaristic police force storms a indigenous encampment, removes it’s people who live there, all for corporate interest, so we can pump more oil out, and accelerate the death of the planet.
Then once the Cops storm the place, they declare an “exclusion zone” deploy a wifi and cell blockage, AND exclude media. All so no news of it gets out.
You all need to be fucking outraged. We live in a police state, and the moment your life gets in the way of making money, you cease to matter.
Hey Americans, you know how we Canadians all shared information about Standing Rock as it was happening?
We’re having a very similar situation in Canada right now.
Now would be a good time to reciprocate.
This is happening RIGHT NOW.
Nobody on this site besides me and a few other bloggers are talking about this.
Like there are only 2 or 3 blogs in total in the #Wet’suwet’en or #Unist’ot’en or Unist’ot’en Camp hashtags from the past week.
